Garden Day 2020

“Love is the flower you’ve got to let grow.”

We decided to get involved in the amazing Garden Day SA initiative. After all, gardening (another word for farming) is the very backbone of our brand. So we decided to collaborate with Charene from Jax and Ava and host a Women’s Wellness Day with a Garden Day theme on our farm.

It was truly an incredible day!

Being in a beautiful and creative space with other women energized me!

Thando - Modern Zulu Mom

The morning of our Garden Day started with a welcome coffee by Exodus. We all needed our caffeine fix to start this day. We then started with some breathing and Pilates exercises surrounded by our 30 year old Liquid Amber trees. What a great way to start a Women’s Wellness event.

Foraging tours on the farm We took the ladies on a tour of our farm, explaining how we farm organically, while also showing them different edible weeds and flowers. We later added those foraged treasures for our GnT’s as garnish. DELISH!

Breathing Matters It was amazing to hear from all the woman how much they enjoyed the breathing classes by Alyssa from Mindful Mama. In this crazy stressed out world we live in, we often forget to breathe properly. We walked away from the class with plenty more oxygen to keep us going.

Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.The highlight of the day was creating Floral Crowns. Led by Bianca from Secret Garden, we got to make some of the most detailed and spectacular crowns. Each person had a different look and feel. It was just so pretty.

Laiken and Charene – event hosts of Garden Day

Garden Day is just not complete unless you have good food. A delicious breakfast and lunch was served. Picture fruit-leathers, vegeterian smorgaboard of delcious treats, showing veggies can be yummy!

Let also not forget about the Gin and Tonic we paired with lunch (kindly sponsored by Flowstone and Barker and Quin) Our foraged garnish made for some amazing pictures for the gram.

A big thank you to Calico and Cream for presenting the most amazing and nutritious food.

After finishing off our flower crowns we took some much needed selfies in front of our flower wall. (We need content for the gram people!) Thank you Maresha for taking all of our stunning photos for the day! You made us look good.

A big thank you to all our sponsors and collaborators who helped us make
this day so special.

Our ladies left the farm as friends, their hearts happy and content. Each guest left with a surprise box full of amazing spoils from our sponsors, including our Pomegranate Peel Powder which included a bottle of Rosehip Oil and Frankincense. Yaaay!

We can’t wait to see all of you again for our next Garden Day Event. Put Sunday, 10 October 2021 into your calendar RIGHT NOW. You do not want to miss it.
